Jr. Hurricanes Merge With Roswell Bulldogs

April 22nd , 2014.  The Space Coast Jr. Hurricanes have come to terms with the Roswell Bulldogs’ Travel program to play under one umbrella.  The relationship between Roswell Bulldog’s and the Jr. Hurricanes will enable the better players from the region an opportunity to develop from mites through Jr.’s.

The Bulldogs will remain in the USPHL Elite Division and they are looking to get involved with the U16 Futures Division.  The team will compete in the south and will continue to skate out of the Space Coast Iceplex.

With the merging of the two programs, the Jr. Players along with the U16 will be able to take complete advantage of the Roswell Bulldogs developmental program.  The Bulldogs are in the early stage of building an off - ice facility that will be located two miles from the Iceplex.  The facility will house several amenities that will give each player a great experience.  Robert Oswell who is the owner of Roswell Wake Air.(www.roswellwakeair.com ) has just recently moved his United States Head Quarters to the 70,000 square foot building located two miles from the Iceplex facility.  Rob is originally from Edmonton Alberta and he along with the other staff members of the Bulldogs are excited to be a member of the USPHL.  Information will be added to the website in the coming days at www.roswellbulldogs.com

Former Hurricane Signs NHL Contract

Former Space Coast Jr. Hurricanes power forward Ryan Carpenter signs NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks.  Ryan was a young standout forward when he played on the National Championship Jr. Hurricanes team before he moved on to the USHL for Sioux City.  Ryan played two years in the USHL before heading to Bowling Green State University where he played three years.  "I truly enjoyed coaching Ryan when he played for the Jr. Hurricanes.  As a young player, he showed lots of maturity to handle playing at the higher level against the older stronger players," Said Bret Thompson who coached Ryan at the Jr. Hurricanes. "This is awesome news for the Florida youth players as another Florida hockey player makes it to the NHL," add Thompson.

The Jr. Hurricanes staff is very proud of Ryan and we wish him the best as he moves up to the NHL.

Jack Musil Heading DI

Jr. Hurricanes are prooud to announce that Jack Musil has committed to the University of Maine for the 2014-15 season.  Jack Musil played two years for the Jr. Hurricanes and was a standout forward for both of those year.  This is not the first former player of Coach Shawn's to commit to the University of Maine and Jack will be among some of the best players to have dressed for Coach Shawn.  Jack will be following in the ame footsteps as Joey Diamond (89) who played four years for University Of Maine and is now playing in the NY Slanders farm system with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.  The entire Hurricanes staff is proud of Jack's accomplishments and wish him great success.
